Yoga for children

Yoga is a valuable tool for children to learn to help them keep well and calm. Yoga poses help them keep both strong and flexible. Yoga breathing helps develop their ability to manage emotions as well as helping them focus and relax. Yoga as a whole develops their self-awareness and understanding of feelings as well as helping to build confidence and self esteem.

Yoga I Bawb teachers have trained in additional modules through the British Wheel of Yoga, through the Special Needs children's school and with Yoga'd Up in London. They have worked with toddlers through to teenagers. Classes for the little ones include stories, singing and action rhymes, older children are taught using themed classes as part of PE or PSHE.

Projects with schools include:
Ysgol Llwyn yr Eos – funded and offered a pilot 7 week course with Year Two which has now developed into weekly classes with Year One and Year Four.
Ysgol Llwyn yr Eos – funded a 20 week course in their special needs unit working with children with very limited ability and with autistic children.
Ysgol Penuwch – offering a summer term 7 sessions of yoga with the whole school paid for by the schools own funds.
